Arsenal Face Injury Blow as Alexis Sanchez, Laurent Koscielny and Santi Cazorla were Injured

The Gunners already have some players who are recovering from injuries and during the game against Norwich, as many as three Arsenal players were injured. First it was defender Laurent Koscielny followed by Alexis Sanchez and Santi Cazorla. However Wenger must accept responsibility for Sanchez' injury as most people expected Wenger to rest the powerful winger considering his recent workload.

After the game Wenger was adamant that Alexis’ injury was not his fault. “[Regret playing Alexis?] No. I don’t regret it. The players are there to play football not to be rested when the press decides they need to be rested,” he said. He later added that he would have rested Sanches, but the Chilean Internation said that he was fine to play and said that the tests looked fine. He said “our tests looked like he was alright – the tests showed he had no problem with a normal stretch.”

Wenger also shed further light on Koscielny and Cazorla’s injuries, while admitting his disappointment at his side’s recent results in the league. “When [Cazorla] was down he got a kick on the knee. We don’t know if he’s hurt a knee ligament or a kick on the nerve. The worrying thing is it got worse during the game. Koscielny is a kick on his hip, he couldn’t move even now. We will have to asses them. We’ve had a bad spell with only two points from three games, but we are still not far. At least we have an opportunity to come back.”

Do you think Wenger must be blamed mostly for Alexis' injury?
