Nigeria U23 team will depart for Senegal ahead of the 2015 African U23 championship which begins this weekend. Samson Siasia’s men have been camping in Gambia ahead of the tournament which will serve as qualifiers for the Rio 2016 Olympics’ men’s football event.
According to team secretary Sirajo Hassan, the delegation made up of 23 players and 10 associated officials will depart the Banjul International Airport at about 11pm aboard Arik Airline for Dakar.
Before departure, the team will play their last friendly game against the Gambian U20 side in Banjul.
Meanwhile, FSV Frankfurt’s Taiwo Awoniyi arrived in the Dream Team VI camp.
The former Flying Eagles forward made the 21-man squad that will represent Nigeria in the championship that will determine Africa’s representatives for the Rio 2016 Olympics. (Goal)
