The 10ft likeness in bronze was unveiled in the Portuguese footballer’s hometown of Funchal, Madeira.
The island is home to the two-time Ballon d’Or winner’s personal museum, housing medals, trophies and other memorabilia from the 29-year-old’s glittering career so far.
“This is a very special moment, to have a statue of me,” Ronaldo said.
