Sultan Urges Youths To Seek Quality Education

The Sultan of Sokoto and president-general of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alh Saád Abubakar has urged young Nigerians to pursue quality education as path to a brighter future.

He stressed that unrestricted access to education built on solid foundation of the fear of God is a solution to peace, harmony and progress in Nigeria.

The Sultan stated this while declaring open the 98th Islamic Vacation Course of the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), held at its permanent site along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

He also urged the Nigerian Muslim youths to remain patient and persevering in the face of the challenges facing the nation, reminding them of Allah’s injunction that relief comes after hardship.

“I urge you all to stay away from evil company. Do not allow anyone to lure you into engaging in any kind of action that could compromise the security of the nation.

“As you are aware, our religion (Islam) stands for peace. So, let’s remain peaceful so that we can live a peaceful life here and be accommodated in the Home of Peace in the life to come,” he advised.

The president-general, Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), congratulated the MSSN for its recent 60th anniversary and prayed for a fruitful vacation course.

In his keynote speech, the national president of the society, Surajudeen Abdulazeez called on Muslim students to rise up to and salvage the country from total collapse.
