Jonathan, Not Fair to Ndigbo – Ikedife

Former president of the apex Igbo Socio-Cultural Organization, Ohaneze Ndigbo, Dr. Dozie Ikedife has faulted President Goodluck Jonathan’s government on grounds of marginalization of the South East in the scheme of things.

Speaking exclusively with the Vanguard at Nnewi, Ikedife who was a member of the constitutional conference said the administration has
not really done well to deserve re-election by not only the people of the South East but Nigerians in general.

“Information shows that of the six geo-political zones, the south east has the least federal presence in terms of infrastructure and other
social amenities”.

He said the Jonathan government has for the past six years not thought it expedient to give serious attention to the federal roads in the
South east which are now impassable.

“The worst aspect is that this government has failed to revive the major industries in the South east some of which include the Enugu
coal corporation, ANAMCO, PRODA, Nkalagu Cement industry and Emenite among others. There is no major industry that is capital intensive
cited in the south east”.

“The 2nd Niger Bridge has been over sung. None of the bridges elsewhere in this country is a toll bridge except this one. It is not
fair. We will be paying toll for 25 years after completion. Does this show Jonathan has done well”. (Vanguard)
