Jega On Verge Of Making History – Lawmaker

The member representing Funtua district in the Katsina State House of Assembly, Rabiu Idris Funtua, has said the Prof. Attahiru Jega-led INEC is on the verge of making history for conducting the best elections ever.

Speaking to our correspondent in a telephone interview, the law maker said the conduct of the election was commendable.

“If the final election results are declared and they reflect what transpired at the collation centres and the various polling units, this will be the best election.

“As a matter of fact, this is one of the most peaceful elections ever. There were little or no cases of violence and even the voters were very orderly, unlike what obtained in previous elections,” he said.

Funtua said the use of the card reader helped greatly in minimising or even addressing incidences of rigging which had been the bane of elections in the country, and saluted Nigerians for their perseverance.

He said the electoral umpire had succeeded in proving to all Nigerians that it was indeed ready to conduct the best elections ever.

“I urge Nigerians to be calm, exercise patience and accept the outcome of the elections which I strongly believe will reflect the true wishes of the people,” he enthused. (Leadership)
