FCT Minister’s Nephew Kidnaps Younger Brother

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Senator Bala Mohammed’s Nephew, Salisu Salmanu, 19, has been arrested for kidnapping.

According to the Bauchi State Police Command, Salmanu kidnapped his 3-year-old brother, Abdulkadir Salmanu, at Kofar Idi, Bauchi State, for a ransom of N10 million from his father,

It was gathered that the suspect’s father, Salmanu Mohammed is the FCT Minister’s elder brother.

The Spokesperson for the Bauchi State Police Command, DSP Haruna Mohammed, disclosed that the suspect was arrested along with four others.

“The victim has been liberated by the police and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the other fleeing suspects after which they will be charged to court”, he said.

In a statement made available to LEADERSHIP, Salmanu revealed that if they had succeeded in getting the N10 million, they would have bought a car and spent what was left as each deemed fit.

“Honestly, my father meets all my needs. He pays my school fees and every other thing I need. It is just greed and selfishness which the devil put in our hearts”, he said. (Leadership)
