BringBackOurGirls (BBOG) Cries Out, Expresses Worry Over Collateral Damages

The #BringBackOurGirls (BBOG) group has expressed worry over civilians who might be affected in the cause of the fight against insurgency.

Speaking during its sit-out, one of it members, Dr Emman Shehu who was reacting to the reported recapture of Dikwa, Borno State by the Chadian forces expressed worry over the citizens who might be affected in the fight at the hot zone.

“I am worried about the collateral damage in Dikwa and other communities in the Northern east of the country. I am worried about the Chadian forces going into these communities. They have a record of brutality even in their country. There must be an MoU to protect its citizens.

“There are other interest that are playing out. There should be a proper strategy for dealing with Boko Haram on a regional stage. We have to have a proper strategy,” he said.

He also expressed worry over the conflicting report coming from the leaders of the countries in Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), urging the need for a unified font in the fight against the insurgency.

“There is a problem here. There are conflicting statement from different leaders of the countries in the MNJTF and it is the citisens that are in the receiving end and are suffering,” he said.

Also speaking, Fati Abba Kaka urged political leaders to come out and speak out on what they will do in the fight against the insurgency even beyond the six weeks or the nation will be at great risks.

“If they did not come out and say what they are going to do about insurgency, we really are in deep trouble. I will say that all the other countries fighting against the insurgency are fighting for themselves and if the country’s government has not come out to do something meaningful, our country will be in trouble,” she said.
