My Husband’s Re-election ‘ll Guarantee Better Future For Nigerian Women – Patience Jonathan

Speaking in Delta State during the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Women for Change Initiative Presidential Rally at the Orerokpe Township Stadium, she said a second term ticket for her husband would guarantee better future for Nigerian women, while urging them to resist the temptation to vote for the main opposition party, All Progressives Congress (APC) in the rescheduled March 28 presidential election.

The president’s wife said any woman who votes for APC would be counted as her own enemy and alleged that APC had no regard for Nigerian women.

Going further, Dame Jonathan assured the women that the re-election of her husband would clearly guarantee the consolidation of the gains of the first term of Jonathan’s administration.

Accompanied by the state governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, PDP’s gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and other leaders of the party at all levels, she said, “a government formed by any other political party, aside the PDP, would rather erode the gains so far made for the female gender in the country.”

“Any Nigerian woman that carries her card to vote for the APC is enemy of herself. Come 28 March and April 11, Delta women will take their destinies into their hands and vote for President Goodluck Jonathan and Sen. Okowa, to free our husbands, to free our children and to free ourselves.”

“We have been in the cages for too long, we do not want to go back there. What is the hope for women when everything she does is bad for the opposition? They want us to go back to the kitchen. Delta women, the train has reached your point, move the train and anything that obstructs it, crush it down.”“Remember, in 2011 you did it, I know you will do it again and again. PDP does
