Manchester United to Sign Ross Barkley and Renato Sanches for Amazing £85m Double Deal

The Red Devils are set to overhaul their midfield this summer and have identified Ross Barkley and Renato Sanches as their leading targets. Starsport reported yesterday that Everton ace Ross Barkley was back on United’s radar and a £45m bid could be in the pipeline.

The 22-year-old has looked back to his best this season and has scored 14 goals in 47 games for club and country. The Toffees are determined to hold on to their man and have no need to sell following investment from Farhad Moshiri earlier this year.

With big money on the table and the prospect of European football next season, Manchester United may tempt Barkley to Old Trafford.

Meanwhile Portuguese newspaper A Bola claim United have had a breakthrough in their pursuit of Benfica midfielder Renato Sanches.

United have told the Portuguese club they are willing to pay £40m up front for the 18-year-old prodigy who they have been heavily linked with since the start of the year.

The report suggests Benfica are prepared to accept the offer, provided United offer a further £8m in achievable bonuses.

United had scouts watch Sanches in action once again on Friday evening in Benfica’s win over Braga and negotiations are continuing to reach a final agreement.

Louis Van Gaals’s side have identified their midfield as a key area to be strengthened ahead of next season.

Midifelder Michael Carrick is out of contract in the summer while Bastian Schweinsteiger has struggled for form and fitness this season. There are also doubts over the futures of Marouane Fellaini, Ander Herrera and Adnan Januzaj.
