Arjen Robben Rule Out For The Rest The Season and Lewandowski Diagnosed With Broken Jaw and Nose

Pep Guardiola will be without the Dutchman for the rest of 2014-15 due to the winger picking up another injury against Dortmund while the striker has sustained a facial injury. Bayern Munich have confirmed that Arjen Robben will be out of action for the remainder of the 2014-15 campaign after suffering a tear in his left calf muscle in the DFB Pokal semi-final defeat against Borussia Dortmund, while Robert Lewandowski sustained a broken nose and jaw in Tuesday’s encounter at the Allianz Arena.

Robben returned to the Bayern squad for Tuesday's match after a five-week spell on the sidelines due to an abdominal injury and started the game from the bench.

The Netherlands international came on to replace Thiago Alcantara in the 68th minute, but was forced off again only 16 minutes later.

Head coach Pep Guardiola confirmed after the final whistle that Robben had to make way for Mario Gotze due to a calf injury and further examination on Wednesday revealed that the Dutchman will be forced to watch the remainder of the season from the sidelines.

Lewandowski, meanwhile, was taken off in the closing stages of extra time after a collision with BVB goalkeeper Mitchell Langerak.

The Poland international, 26, was taken to hospital after Tuesday's match and Bayern have now revealed that the prolific attacker has suffered multiple injuries.

The former BVB man has broken his upper jaw, his nose and has also been diagnosed with a concussion. (Goal)
