Pakistan Mourns Victims of Deadly Bombing

Christians across Pakistan are observing a day of mourning Monday, a day after two suicide bombings outside Christian churches in Lahore killed 15 people, including a nine-year-old boy.

Christian schools in Pakistan are closed Monday for the funeral services for the victims.

Seventy people were wounded Sunday in the attacks as two gunmen tried to shoot their way into the churches during services in the majority-Christian Lahore suburb of Youhanabad. When security guards stopped them at the gates, the attackers detonated explosives.

A militant group allied to the Pakistani Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Christians in several cities, including Lahore, took to the streets Monday, as some did on Sunday, to protest against what they said was authorities’ failure to protect them.
