United to Replace LVG with Carlo Ancelotti

Manchester United are in talk with former Chelsea and Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti over potentially replacing Louis van Gaal, according to reports spreading in Italy. According to Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri, United have already approached Ancelotti over potentially replacing Van Gaal, and could install him as manager before the start of next season. United are looking at proven managers like Ancelotti to come in.

Van Gaal’s United are currently one point off the top of the Premier League table and one win away from the last-16 of the Champions League. Despite the fact that United's performance in the season so far cannot be said to be bad, the Dutchman is still yet to fully win over the Old Trafford faithful, though, and it’s widely understood that he won’t stay in his post beyond his contract expiry date in the summer of 2017.

This summer is likely to be one of the biggest with regards to managerial movements, and although Ryan Giggs has been touted as Van Gaal’s successor, United could move for a big name if their rivals do the same.
