Former Chelsea manager has reiterated his desire to manage Aston Villa who are currently battling to survive relegation. While the Dutch legend is enjoying life as a pundit, he feels ready to return to the dugout. ‘I’m happy with what I’m doing here at beIN Sports, I’ve worked here a long time, and I’m happy with what I’m doing.
‘People look after me here and you think to yourself, “Why would you give that up?”
‘Every day is stress, if you want that you can get it. But of course, if they came to me then I would consider it.’
Villa are heading for the Championship after a disastrous season but Gullit’s name is unlikely to appear on their shortlist after such a long time away from top level management.
Ruud Gullit has thrown his hat into the ring to become Aston Villa’s manager.
The former Chelsea and Newcastle boss, 53, has been out of management since 2011 and hasn’t managed in the Premier League since 1999.
But after Villa parted company with Remi Garde by mutual consent, Gullit admitted he would consider a return to management in the West Midlands.
‘If they come to me then I will really, really consider it,’ he told beIN Sports.
‘I will think about it if I have the people around me also to do that job.
‘I feel ready. There were some things that I had to do also in my life.’
