Chelsea have reportedly made an approach to sign Borussia Dortmund captain Mats Hummels in the summer transfer window, according to reports in Germany.
Hummels has made 290 appearances for Dortmund since making his debut for the Bundesliga outfit in 2009 but has consistently been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent months.
Sport Bild say the Blues have already made contact over a move for the 27-year-old who won the World Cup with Germany in 2014.
John Terry looks set to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season and it’s understood the London club are on the lookout for a world class defender to replace him.
Latest reports indicate that Manchester United and Liverpool are also believed to be interested in the highly-rated centre-back.
