NANS Passes Vote Of No Confidence On FERMA

The National Association of Nigerian Students, Zone A, has passed a vote of no confidence on the management of the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) for failing to improve the conditions of Nigerian roads in spite of the huge resources at its disposal.
NANS’ position was contained in a communique issued at the end of its zonal executive meeting held at Kaduna Polytechnic, Kaduna.

The communique, which was jointly signed by the coordinator, Zone A, Abdulrahman Bala and the chairman, Communique Drafting Committee, Muhammad Abdulhamid, noted that FERMA had failed the country woefully and caused the deaths of many Nigerians in spite of the enormous resources given to it by the government.

“We hereby send our condolences to the entire NANS family over the accidental death of our chief of staff, Zulu Archer, whose death occurred as a result of bad roads. We also wish the injured in that particular accident speedy recovery. We appeal to students to obey traffic rules and be cautious while plying our roads that are more of death traps.

“We call on all political parties and their candidates to imbibe the culture of best practices in their electioneering campaigns. Whoever emerges victorious among the candidates should give priority to the issues of education,” the communique said.
