The theme at this year's Met Gala was China: Through The Looking Glass but not everyone nailed it. Katy Perry usually looks nothing less than perfection on the red carpet - but the bubblegum pop princess hit a bum note last night with her outfit for the Met Gala.
The Firework hitmaker rocked up wearing a dreadful graffiti-print dress with long matching gloves and looked as though she'd got dressed in the dark before picking up her spray can clutch bag. Eugh.
Her adventurous Moschino gown failed to impress and she topped the night's worst dressed list sporting her new Kris Jenner-inspired pixie hair cut and bronze eyeshadow.
What made it even more awkward was that Madonna arrived in a very similar gown but managed to upstage Katy with yet another cape and her blonde hair flowing down.

Meanwhile, the likes of Kris Jenner in a dreadful 80s-inspired red dress and Anne Hathaway, who turned up resembling a Jedi Knight, left us a little baffled when we saw the snaps.
We understand it was Star Wars Day yesterday but Anne's Ralph Lauren gown with a metallic hood was a bad call for the event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
This year's theme at the Met Gala was China: Through The Looking Glass and we were expecting some outrageous choices to reflect an East Asian influence, but this was a bit much.

Sarah Jessica Parker also looked as though she'd been rummaging through a fancy dress box and arrived wearing an insanely large Philip Treacy custom headdress which made her look as though her hair was on fire.
The Sex And The City star also wore a black satin one-shouldered dress, which was designed in collaboration with high street store H&M, covered in large poppies.
Beyonce's sister Solange Knowles, who caused a heap of drama last year when she attacked the singer's husband Jay Z, decided not to slip in under the radar and attempted to make a statement in a terrible printed mini-dress.

The outfit looked like two paper fans on top of each other and although it was bold, you could barely see her face. She definitely wouldn't have been able to windmill kick in that frock.
The likes of Alicia Keys, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus and Amal Clooney also didn't do it for us this year, but there were plenty of stars who hit the red carpet looking like goddesses. (Mirror)
