SUICIDE - Man Murders Wife, Daughter, Commits Suicide In Ogun

According to a report on Leadership, Detectives of the Nigeria Police Force, Ogun State Command are looking into the mystery surrounding the action of a man who allegedly beheaded his wife and daughter before committing suicide.

Olubusayo Sunday, a resident of Onigbedu town in Ewekoro local government area of the state who committed the act on Wednesday was said to have stabbed himself severally before setting himself ablaze in the afternoon of the fateful day.

According to a statement by the spokesperson of the command in the state, Muyiwa Adejobi, Sunday, in flames attempted to jump into a well near his house but was prevented and rescued by his neighbours but later died in the hospital.

Reasons for committing the act are unclear but few words mumbled by Sunday on his death bed in the presence of detectives, suggested that the couple had a fight before the incident.

However, Adejobi said corpses of the couple and their three-year-old daughter, Esther, had been deposited at the mortuary at Ifo General Hospital for autopsy.
Police reports said, a knife and one cutlass stained with blood suspected to have been used in committing the crime have been recovered from his house.
The Ogun State Police commissioner, Ikemefuna Okoye has directed that the matter be transferred to the department of criminal investigation, Eleweran, Abeokuta for thorough investigation.
