Ex-Militant Youths Warn Patience Jonathan Over Presidential Rally In Bayelsa

Hundreds of youths from the coastal communities in Bayelsa State, suspected to be ex-militants, yesterday warned the wife of the president, Dame Patience Jonathan against accompanying her husband to the presidential rally of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) scheduled to hold in the state on February 5 over her alleged involvement in the plot to boo and stone the state governor, Hon.Seriake Dickson during the forthcoming presidential rally in the state.

The group Mangrove Boys of Bayelsa (MBB) in a statement issued in Yenagoa and signed by the president, Mr. Opuyo Engobara, and secretary, Mr. Warrman Aderi, respectively alleged that though the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan has been identified to be using the aide to the president, Hon. Waripamowei Dudafa to recruit youths to boo and stone the governor of the state, Mr. Seriake Dickson, at the proposed rally, the president’s silence over the alleged excesses of his wife is worrisome.

According to the group, “In her last visit to the state, Mrs. Jonathan came ahead of her husband, avoided the state Government Lodge, stayed at Otuoke for three days busy sponsoring Dudafa’s recruitment drive of youths with the intention to go against the governor by booing and stoning him at the planned rally; to discredit his administration before the PDP National Executive Council.” Vanguard
